Wrap all fragile items individually with multiple layers of packing materials for extra protection.
Reinforce Your Boxes

While more expensive, there can be value in buying double-walled boxes with handles. The double walling adds additional protection and strength, while the handles make them easier to carry. You may then reduce the risk of them being dropped.

It’s only natural to feel stressed about packing expensive, precious, or sentimental items into boxes to go with your chosen moving company. While they’re professionals and strive to look after your items, you can’t help but feel nervous about being unable to see and be near anything of great value.
If it means you’ll enjoy more peace of mind, take precious items with you. Just ensure that if you’re driving to a new home that requires an overnight stay in a hotel or motel, you don’t leave those special items in your vehicle.
Check Your Insurance
You likely already have special insurance for your high-value items, but check your policy before you relocate them. There’s a chance your standard policy doesn’t provide protection while you’re moving. If it doesn’t, you may be able to purchase an additional moving insurance policy as a just-in-case measure.
