commercial HVAC system

A commercial HVAC system is going to be reliable. It is meant to last a long time, but there are situations, there are times when the HVAC system will be prone to damage. Many businesses will realize how important their system is, but they may not give it the time and attention that it needs until it breaks down. It is important to know some of the most common HVAC problems and how to prevent them.

There are a number of things that can be wrong with your commercial HVAC system. Some of the most common include:

Compressor Problems

The compressor is a critical component of your HVAC system. There are different problems associated with this, including the scrambles and the leaks. A commercial HVAC repair technician will be able to look into the service ports, fittings, valves, and connections to see if there is some oil present there.

You will be able to hear the signs of damage with the compressor in this system. A scrambled compressor is going to be a lot louder than a standard compressor, so you will notice all of the noise in no time. You may also hear a humming sound, which is an indicator that the rotor is locked. A clicking sound that comes on or off will indicate that the compressor is starting and stopping all the time.

Condenser Problems

It is possible that the condenser problems, which can be caused by dirty coils or clogged coils. This will restrict the airflow. The best way for these companies to check for a condenser problem will be a visual inspection by a technician.

There are different things that will cause the coil fins in the condenser to deteriorate, including chemicals and salt. This will end up restricting the transfer of heat. Problems in the condenser fan not only affect how well the air flows through the system, but if it is left alone and ignored, then the entire HVAC system may stop working.

You may notice that there is a bearing noise, excessive vibration of the fan blade, the

You will be able to hear signs of condenser problems like a bearing noise, excessive vibration of the fan blade, and even an incorrect fan speed. You may see some oil leaks that could be a sign that you need to fix a bit too.

Economizer Problems

The economizer is a part of the HVAC system that is designed to engage when the temperature outside the building goes lower than 55 degrees. When this part fails to engage when you expect it to, it means that something is wrong. The economizer features OA dampers that should close or open based on what the temperature outside is at the time.

One of the big reasons that this part is not going to work is because of excessive dirt. Dirt is able to build onto the controls, dampers, gears, and linkage of the economizer and this is enough to cause it to malfunction. If you are missing the outside air filters or they get damaged, then you will need to get them replaced or fixed to help make sure that the economizer is going to work the right way.

Evaporator Problems

One of the main functions of the air filter in your system is to help protect the evaporator coil as much as possible. When you allow the air filter to get dirty or defunct, it is going to make the evaporator dirty as well. Dirt buildup is going to coat the evaporator and can restrict the amount of air that will flow through there. And when the evaporator coil is not working well, it means that you are going to run into a commercial HVAC system that is not as efficient as it should be and eventually, the system will begin to fail.

Another thing to consider here is that the evaporator is going to feature a drain pan. This is designed to slope to the drain. A clogged drain could allow some dirt and slime to show up in the drain pain, which can lead to complete failure of the drain, poor quality of the air, and water damage. The damage may cause the metal pans to rust and this can cause them to leak as well. Taking good care of your air filters and keeping the drains unclogged will make a big difference as well.

Heating and Control Section Problems

The main areas of the HVAC heating and control section can be prone to damage include the burners and the electrical wiring. Overheating in these connections will often lead to some electrical problems. You may first notice these when there is some discoloration in the wiring.

Other common problems in this part of the commercial HVAC system may include poor wiring and failing contractors. The buildup of rust and soot in the burners can compromise how efficient the whole system is going to be. If you do not get it fixed, it could cause issues like pilot failure and poor combustion.

Clogged Filters

The primary use of the HVAC filters is to help trap in the allergens, dust, and dirt that are in the air. You need to change these up on a regular basis to make sure that they are as efficient as possible. If you do not change them out at all, then the filters will start to get clogged up with dirt and dust over time, making them less efficient and causing more damage to your HVAC system.

Clogged filters are going to make the whole system work harder and will add to the potential wear and tear. This part does not take that much time to work on, but it is easy to overlook. Add it to your routine schedule to make sure that your commercial HVAC system is going to last a long time.

When something goes wrong with your commercial HVAC system, you need to call in the professionals to come take a look and get it up and running again. There are many HVAC professionals in Surna in order to come and take care of the system and get it working well for your business.
